Team Triton has announced their expansion to three cars as Elliot Barbour and Cameron Crick contest the 2019 SuperUtes Series with 2019 Dakar Rally Champion Toby Price entering selected rounds.

The Mitsubishi Motors Australia backed Team will run three of their new MY19 Triton bodied Utes in the SuperUte Series, with two full-time Utes and the third for selected rounds only.

Team Triton's two full-time cars will be driven by Elliot Barbour in the #78 Mitsubishi Motors Triton and Cameron Crick in the #7 Total Tools Triton.

Mitsubishi Ambassador Toby Price has signed on to contest selected rounds this year in the #87 Triton but due to injuries sustained in his winning ride at the 2019 Dakar Rally, he is unable to compete at the Supercars Championship opener.

Taking his place in the event only locally sponsored McDonalds #87 at the Adelaide 500 will be Craig Dontas, who drove in several SuperUte Rounds last year after his successful time in the V8 Ute Category came to a close.

"I'm really sad that I couldn't get behind the wheel at the Adelaide 500 with Team Triton this year, but I need to focus on my recovery and will be back in the driver's seat later this year! Although I won't be on track, I'm looking forward to joining the Mitsubishi Crew in watching the Races on Sunday at the event." - Toby Price

Team Triton's Major Sponsor Mitsubishi Motors Australia has increased their factory backing of the team with national support just as new improvements to the SuperUte Series in 2019 arose, including new race tyres, lower ride heights, more performance and louder exhausts.

Joint Major Sponsors in Total Tools are joined by returning team sponsors Bosch Power Tools, Lightforce, Drive Tech 4x4, Champion, Creative Signworx, Torqit Performance Pedders and newly joined sponsors Blundstone, SIA Abrasives, Maverick Campers & TRG Transport.

Barbour is looking forward to rejoining Team Triton on track after taking part in the Townsville 400 and Sandown 500 where he won both rounds overall with a handful of race wins and podium finishes.

"I am thrilled to be joining Team Triton for the full 2019 Championship! After joining the team in a testing role and becoming a fill-in driver in 2018 I was hopeful that after our strong Round win at Sandown I would be given the opportunity to do a full year. I’m very grateful to Craig, Mitsubishi, and all our partners for putting the faith in me to have a big crack in the #78 this year,  and to be able to do it in the new Mitsubishi Triton MY19 is the icing on the cake. I can’t wait to get on the streets of Adelaide as I’ve always loved the track and event." - Elliot Barbour

Crick can't wait to get behind the wheel of his #7 Total Tools Triton after competing in the Gold Coast 600 and Ipswich SuperSprint for Team Triton last year.

"This year I’m really looking forward to be steering the #7 Team Triton entry. I was lucky enough to jump in for a few rounds last year but to come back this year with Total Tools as the naming rights sponsor and to kickstart the year in Adelaide is super exciting. The opportunity that Craig Dontas, Mitsubishi & Total tools have created for Elliot & myself is unreal and hopefully, we can reward everyone with some great results this year." - Cameron Crick

Team Triton will now prepare for the Superloop Adelaide 500 for Round 1 of the 2019 SuperUte Series, to be held on 28 February – 3 March with all races to be televised LIVE on Fox Sports.
