Total Tools is proud to be an Official Partner of Movember.
In 2021 we embarked on our Official Partnership with Movember and with your support, together, we raised more than $311K!
And most importantly we raised awareness to help change the face of men’s health and support our tradie community. With so many Mo Bros on jobsites throughout the country, this cause is close to our heart at Total Tools.
Since 2017, Total Tools has raised over $1.2M for Movember, the three most recent years as an Official Partner.
We know the importance of health & safety on the jobsite, but it’s also important to down tools for a moment to focus on the other key health issues Aussie blokes are facing. In Australia, 3 out of 4 of suicides are men, 1 in 5 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime, and testicular cancer is the most common cancer in young men. Men’s health is in crisis. Men are dying too young. This Movember, your support will help make change in Australia and around the world, as Movember take on mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.
The partnership is back for 2023 and we’re asking for your continued support. 2023 will be our hairiest audacious goal yet, to reach over $500k in donations. What is Movember?
Movember is the month where men shave off their moustaches and grow them out for a whole month – to raise funds and awareness for mental health and suicide prevention, testicular cancer, and prostate cancer.
With so many Mo Bros on jobsites throughout the country this cause is close to our heart at Total Tools. And while we all know the importance of health & safety on the jobsite…it is equally important to down tools for a moment, check in on a mate and raise funds for the men’s health issues that affect Aussie blokes.
Why should you care?
If you have been following along with this blog on our website or social media channels, you know that there are serious issues facing men in our society today – and they are not going away anytime soon. It is important that we address these issues head-on so that we can make sure they do not affect those who need us most – our loved ones.
How to get involved with Movember?

Another simple tool that can be used on every jobsite is the ALEC framework:
ASK - Start by asking how he is feeling. It is worth mentioning any changes you have noticed: has he stopped replying to texts? Does he sound different on the phone? Has he gone quiet in the group chat?
LISTEN - Give him your full attention. Let him know you are hearing what he is saying, and you are not judging. You do not have to diagnose problems or offer solutions, but asking questions lets him know you are listening.
ENCOURAGE ACTION - Help him focus on simple things that might improve how he feels. Is he getting enough sleep? Is he exercising and eating well? There is something that has helped him in the past – it is worth asking.
CHECK IN WITH A MATE - Follow up your conversation with a phone call or FaceTime. This helps to show that you care; plus, you will get a feel for whether he is feeling any better.
