Elliot Barbour and Mick Sieders have finished 1st and 3rd overall at the Sandown 500 for Team Triton's Mitsubishi Motors and Total Tools entries.

Race 1 - Barbour P1 & Sieders P7

Barbour claimed pole for Team Triton at the Sandown 500 and also claimed his first SuperUtes Series victory in the opening race for Round 5.

Barbour, contesting his second event for Team Triton, led from start-to-finish in wet conditions and finished 4.5 seconds clear of the next driver.

Sieders finished the Race aboard his newly built Total Tools Triton in P7.

"The track was really slippery, fortunately I had a good first lap and built a gap, which I was able to manage. That made the rest of the race a lot easier – it would have been tricky to battle with other cars in those conditions. The levels of grip were constantly changing, so every corner was trial and error for how hard I could push." - Elliot Barbour

Race 2 - Sieders P1 & Barbour P2

Sieders, racing a new Total Tools Triton after a rollover at Queensland Raceway in July, made his move at Turn 1 on the second lap for the lead and didn't look back.

Barbour, who won the opening race earlier in the day aboard the #87 Triton, finished 0.1896 seconds adrift of Sieders to form a 1-2 finish for Team Triton.

“Once I had passed Matt for the lead, I just put my head down and kept looking forward. After the big crash at Queensland and all the boys’ hard work to get us back on track, this is an amazing reward for them and all our sponsors." - Mick Sieders

Race 3 - Barbour P1 & Sieders P3

Barbour took out the Round 5 of the SuperUtes Series with a commanding victory in the final race at Sandown.

Barbour bolted from the start of Race 3 and led until the finish while Sieders was clipped and dropped to P13, but was able to battle his way back to take P3 in the race and 3rd Overall for the Round.

“It was a fairly straightforward race – I pushed hard on the first lap, and was able to build a gap to the cars behind. It’s an awesome result for the Sieders Racing Team – both Tritons were rockets this weekend, as Mick demonstrated with the lap record in Race 3. It was sensational to bring home both cars on the podium to reward the team for all their efforts.” - Elliot Barbour

Round 6 of the SuperUte Series is being held at the Bathurst 1000 from October 4-7, with all races to be televised LIVE on Fox Sports.
